Coppo Portoghese

Florida Certificate of Product Approval # is FL 4973
Miami Dade NOA # 06-0209.03   Status: Approved

The Coppo Portoghese is our source of pride. This tile is available in five different colors: Red, Aged, Old Europe, Sun Tile, and White.

The dimensions of the Coppo Portoghese tile are 16.5”X 10.8” Which translates into 111.6 tiles per square. Each tile weighs 9.7 lbs for a weight of 1,086 lbs per square. For slopes under 30%, it is necessary to use a waterproof membrane.

The Red color conveys the classical “clay” look, and it is the ideal finish not only for new buildings but also for renovated ones.

“Aged” fits perfectly to the architecture of rural as well as urban buildings. The color results from a special finishing process which combines four different colors, into shades and streaks. The installed roof conveys to the house a beautiful and instant ancient character and a unique harmony.

The main characteristic of “Old Europe” is it’s warm clay shade, which is a result of a highly advanced zone-colormetry method. Another characteristic is the matte finish of the surface, which together with the exclusive “musk Effect” emphasizes the aged character of the roof. For these reasons the Coppo Portoghese “Old Europe” has been used to make renovations to ancient buildings protected by government regulations.

The latest shade of the Coppo Portoghese is the “Sun Tile”. The Sun Tile has similar characteristics to the Old Europe color, but in a different shade. The multi-layer treatment reproduces the warm sunny colors of the roofs of southern Italy. This effect is due to both the warm yellow clay shades and the matte finish of the surface.

The White tile was developed for roofs in areas exposed to high temperatures. The white covering reflects the sun’s radiation, and combines with the natural aeration properties of the Coppo Portoghese tile to reduce the temperature of the attic. This environmentally friendly tile is gaining a lot of attention.

The Coppo Portuguese is an excellent tile for many reasons.

- Practical and quick to lay thanks to its “non-Slipping indent”.
- Easier water flow thanks to the large drains.
- High mechanical strength thanks to the selected materials used and to its underlying stiffening ribs.
- Impermeability and freeze/thaw resistance.
- Longevity because it is produced with high-quality materials and superior cement.
- 50 years guarantee…. It lasts forever.
- Quality mark certification from Istedil - Rome

Doppio Coppo

The Doppio Coppo Tile is the latest innovation in the field of roofing materials. The Coppo Portoghese shares many of its quality features with the Doppio Coppo, but there are several differences as well.

First off, it is a larger tile. The dimensions of the tile are 18” by 15.2”. This translates to only 69 tiles per square. Each tile weight about 11.9 lbs or 821 lbs per square. For slopes under 30%, it is necessary to use a waterproof membrane.

The high barrel dimensions gives the Doppio Coppo the old world light and shade effect of traditional cap and barrel coverings which is further accented by the special eaves tiles.

A feature of this tile that deserves emphasis is its large dimensions. These allow for a significant reduction in the number of tiles per square. Only 69 tiles per square! The tiles are so quick to lay that the laying costs can be reduced by nearly 50% compared to average concrete tiles. This due to both the reduced number of tiles per square and also to the non-slip indent.

The Doppio Coppo’s weight at only 821 lbs per square as compared to the Coppo Portoghese’s 1,086 lbs per square means delivery costs are cut and structure loads are reduced.
